From an idea on site to the Surefix direct shop: a business developed together by Rich Brealey and Alex Kendrick.

Surefix began with a problem Alex Kendrick knew from working on site. Traditional rise and fall gutter brackets could mean hammering, damaged mortar and time spent putting the work right. He believed there was a better way to approach the job.
A conversation after work with Rich Brealey turned that frustration into a practical idea: a threaded stake that could be drilled and fixed into position rather than hammered into the wall. Alex made an early prototype in his garage, giving them something physical to develop and discuss with an engineer.
Rich brought his construction experience to the next stage. Together, they developed the design, including the adjustable slot, and worked towards a complete installation approach with a purpose-made setting tool and depth-stop drill bit. The idea moved from a rough prototype into an engineered product, then onto site for testing and feedback.
Rich and Alex are both founders and directors of Surefix. Their different experience has shaped the business from the beginning, with a shared focus on making the work more practical for the people doing it.

The Surefix webspace now gives customers a direct route to the product range and shop. Customers can view the available products, see the order cost before payment and contact the team for help with their installation or larger project.
Behind the shop, payment and order information are connected to the business’s sales records and fulfilment workflow. The aim is to make buying direct clearer for the customer while giving the Surefix team the information they need to prepare and dispatch each order.
The next chapter is taking shape.
Work is underway on new products, a new supplier relationship and the development of in-house distribution. These are active developments rather than completed launches. We will share more as the details are confirmed.
The focus remains the same: improving the product range, strengthening how Surefix supplies its customers and keeping the business close to the tradespeople who use its products.
